Building information modeling (BIM)
Cunliffes understands Building information modeling (BIM) represents an unprecedented opportunity to implement genuine collaboration, co-ordination, continuity and consistency across all design disciplines.
We have developed a three year implementation strategy aimed at supporting our business, clients and stake holders in managing, creating and utilizing BIM data on all future projects. Our core BIM team, lead by top management, is undergoing a structured training program to ensure our capability to create coordinated and semantically rich 3D models for use at various stages of the design and construction process, is achieved by the 2016 Government deadline. Our team will promote the benefits BIM can deliver on a strategic, operational and technical level to BIM level 2 by this date.
The company has already made significant progress in up skilling staff, implementing change management whilst investing in technology infrastructure throughout the organisation. This progress has not been stopped. The intention is to ensure that the company has sufficient capacity to maintain its continuous improvement to date. Our adoption of BIM is an agreement to share and re-use information in a project environment, helping reduce risk and promoting cost certainty whilst unlocking value through the collaborative use of BIM and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD).
We promote the use of open standards and information sharing to facilitate the full involvement of the project team and all stakeholders.
